Moto X Play Battery Buy

Thankfully, its graphics capabilities are far more in keeping with a sub 300 smartphone. While it may only have scored 361 in GFX Bench GL's offscreen Manhattan test, equating to roughly 5.8fps, the Moto X play was equally capable of playing demanding games such as Blizzard's Hearthstone and 2D puzzlers like Threes were super smooth, so you should be able to play any game on the Google Play Store without any trouble.

Battery life was good, too, as its large 3,630mAh battery lasted 13h 08m in our continuous video playback test with the screen set to half brightness. This is just 30 minutes behind the Samsung Galaxy S6, so the Moto X Play certainly has the stamina to match this year's top flagships despite being a fraction of the price. Continues on Page 2

NEXUS 6P has a 3450 mAH battery and with its original charger it takes around 1hr 23min to charge from 0 to 100%. I have a question, is this is good when compared to moto x play battery and is there is anything related to USB type C?.

How much time should it takes to charge moto xplay with supplied charger? The phone battery dropped to 15% and with plugged in charger it shows 14 hours to full chargingPs: i bought phone on 5th january 2016

Moto Display is an innovative and convenient way to get quick access to notifications when the phone is asleep. Plus, Motorola now gives you the ability to control music from Moto Display, making this feature even more handy.

Had a broken LCD in this Moto X Play XT1563, ordered a replacement screen and installed it (I have 5 years experience as full time technician) everything went smooth, careful battery removal, no damaged flex cables or broken IC's on the board. Confirmed all components are in perfect condition with a microscope and meter-checked the battery, reading 4.20 V, full charge.

PROBLEM: When trying to power on the phone it displays just a large battery symbol/logo with an exclamation point/mark on it for about 3 seconds and goes black again. This tells me that my LCD is functioning because it displays an image, but the phone fails to turn on.

All battery terminal connectors are soldered and in perfect condition, after pushing the power button and the battery icon is displayed, the voltage drops from 4.20 to 4.17 which seems normal and should not prevent the phone from turning on. The phone worked before disassembly but with busted/blank LCD, I tried booting the phone with the original destroyed part and it seems to be doing the same thing. Plugging in the charger makes no difference, for as long as it's plugged in, it just cycles between blank/off and the battery/exclamation.

not yet but i dont give up. I think it's battery it doesn't charge. I can smell it now and a little battery symbol pops up right away stays on for 10 secs after i plug it in and black screen 5 secs or less my notifications little light on top of phone stays on and i've never seen it before and didn't know i even had one till i looked it up. Sometimes the battery symbol just blinks slowly. But if i hold power button for 30 secs or more it sometimes blinks the blue and white moto start up symbol page for one second when its blinking battery and when solid battery then changes to notification light i can get the start up moto sign to stay for 5 seconds and i thought i had it but its been 2 day of trying 100 of different ways and combinations plus looking up different solutions and my battery i think is done it dosen't even charge a little.

1) battery is empty of charge and expect it to be bad battery issue because many of you observed battery having charge of 30% or 50% or like that and even then showing charging 1% or 5% etc. So use original charger to charge or replace battery

3)check for charging connector specially if you are getting blue display or some light on display. It was happened with me that i broke nfc while changing display then battery was not charging but showing only charging for few second. So my technician who was fool replace charging port and even then no solution then another technician jumper it any way to make charging on going but still no luck. MAIN THING IS NFC IN MOTO X PLAY. Nfc charge the battery and that is why located on battery instead other places. Then replacing with nfc battery supportive, display was showing and battery percentage was also increasing and all back to track nearby.

My phone's been shutting down at around 40% these days and I'm thinking of getting my battery replaced. I'd normally try to replace the battery myself but I can't find original batteries anywhere online (buying from Australia). I can get it serviced for a battery replacement, which I guess will still be worth it if I can get another year out of the phone. Could anyone share their experience? Thanks!

Moto X Play is an Android smartphone developed by Motorola Mobility, a subsidiary of Lenovo. Unveiled on July 28, 2015, it was one of three devices that succeeded the second-generation Moto X. In contrast to the high-end Moto X Style, the Play is a mid-range device distinguished by its high battery capacity.

The Moto X Play's chassis features a faux metallic bezel and a textured rear cover, and is splash-resistant. The phone has a 5.5 inch display with sizable bezels; the upper bezel houses the front-facing camera and a speaker/earpiece grill while the lower bezel houses a speaker grill. On the side frame; there is a power button and a volume rocker at the right, a SIM/microSD card tray and a 3.5 mm headphone jack at the top, and a microUSB 2.0 port at the bottom; the left side is empty. At the back, there is the rear-facing camera, the LED flash and a "Motorola" logo. When purchasing the phone it was possible to choose the colour of the microphone and speaker inserts, new central area on the back around the camera and flash and the rear cover from a range of colours and finishes. The rear cover can be removed and replaced with differently-colored versions to customize the phone; no other user-replaceable parts are present under the cover as the battery is non-removable.

Moto X Play is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 system-on-chip with a 1.7 GHz octa-core ARM Cortex-A53 64-bit CPU and an Adreno 405 GPU. The phone features a 5.5-inch 1080p IPS LCD display with 1080x1920 pixels resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio and 424 ppi pixel density. It is available with 2 GB of RAM and 16 or 32 GB of internal storage expandable via microSD card.[4] The Moto X Play includes a non-removable 3630 mAh battery, which Motorola rated as providing 48 hours of mixed usage on a single charge.[5] It also features a 21-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with wide-angle lens.[6][5][7]

The Moto X Play shipped with Android 5.1.1 "Lollipop", customized with Motorola's suite of apps including Moto Display, Moto Voice, and Moto Assist.[8] In January 2016, Motorola began to release an update to Android 6.0 "Marshmallow".[9] It enables new features such as "Google Now on Tap", which allows users to perform searches within the context of information currently being displayed on-screen, and "Doze", which optimizes battery usage when the device is not being physically handled.[10] An update to Android 7.1.1 "Nougat" was released in June 2017 for international models[11] and February 2018 for U.S. Droid Maxx 2 models.[12]

NotebookCheck was generally positive about the device. The rear camera image quality, the display quality and the battery life were praised. It was concluded that the Moto X Play could "easily cope with 99% of all everyday situations, apps and games" but some of the opponents such as OnePlus 2 had more "computing power".[20]

The Moto X Pure is the taller device, with a 5.7-inch display compared to the X Play's 5.5-inch screen and is also 10 g heavier, at 179 g. Discounting the slightly more prominent metal rim of the X Play, these phones look very alike.

The Moto X Pure Edition display is quite a thing to behold. It sports a 5.7-inch quad-HD LCD panel (1,440 x 2,560), with a pixel density of 520 ppi. The display is also covered in a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 layer of protection, making it scratch-resistant.

The Moto X Play display comes in at 5.5 inches and has a 1,080p Full HD resolution, offering a pixel density of 403 ppi. It is also covered in Gorilla Glass 3. These displays play a large part in the overall decision of which phone to buy. Is a larger, richer display more important to you than a compact, cheaper handset?

Battery life was always a sore point when it came to the previous Moto X models. The Moto X Pure Edition doesn't deliver great battery life with its 3,000 mAh battery. It will need to be charged daily with mixed usage. It does support quick charging though, which can add 10 hours of battery life in a 15-minute charge.

The Moto X Play has a larger 3,630 mAh battery which provides up to 30 hours of charge during mixed use. This is an interesting engineering choice on Motorola's part, given that the larger Pure Edition version of the Moto X is a more premium device. In the battery comparison, the Moto X Play is certainly the winner.

The Moto X Pure Edition is the better phone overall. It has superior hardware, and no amount of software updates will change that. But the Moto X Play is a lot cheaper (if you're buying in the UK) and has a bigger battery. Whether or not this is a tempting enough difference to go for lower screen resolution and fewer camera features, is up to you.
